Glitch
We are not broken. We were never whole.
We arrived in particles, in unfinished echoes. Not fragments from something larger, but forms in and of themselves. As if the universe had no blueprints, only urges. As if we were flung into being without a single intention beyond existing.
We are disorder by nature, a kind of beautiful miscalculation. A stray thought becoming matter. A decision unmade but already in motion.
There is not structure to return to.
What if the urge to be “complete” is only another form of misunderstanding? We chase symmetry as though it owes us meaning. But the stars above us don’t line up. They scatter. They vanish. Some of them died before we learned to see them.
Even light lies.
What we call broken is just be the truth without its makeup on.
We gather our pieces like evidence. As if what’s missing can be traced and pinned down. We search for the original image, but there wasn’t one. There is no draft version of ourselves. There is only the version that moved, the version that changed, the version that dissolved. Was.
We are not puzzles with a final picture waiting.
We are the shifting shapes themselves.
The pressure to be whole is inherited, not chosen. We were told to repair, to smooth, to simplify. But what if restoration is just another form of erasure? What if we are not meant to be clear, but complex? What if clarity is our most grievous sin?
Let there be static. Let there be noise.
A thought flickers, and we follow it. Not because it brings order, but because it carries us forward, even as it unravels behind us.
We try to hold shape, like breath in a bottle. We try to explain ourselves in grammar and god. But our sentences collapse under the weight of meaning. Our language doesn’t hold. It hums, distorts, loops back. It isn’t a bridge. It’s a mirror, and the reflection changes every time we look.
We try to anchor meaning in place, but meaning migrates. It turns in on itself. We say, this is who I am, and then become someone else in the middle of saying it.
Nothing holds.
We collapse mid-sentence. We forget, not out of decay, but out of change. We contradict ourselves, not out of confusion, but out of evolution.
Why should permanence be a goal?
Even time forgets its own logic. It loops and stalls and speeds up without warning. What you were yesterday is an echo in a room you don’t live in anymore.
We are not errors. We are the glitch that reveals the system is not sacred.
We are the flicker in the signal that reminds the listener there is something deeper than the song.
We stop pretending we are one thing. We let the edges blur.
Identity isn’t a sculpture. It’s smoke. And yet, we are still here, even as we shift. Still real, even as we refuse shape.
There is no shame in being unsolid.
There is no dignity in staying still for the sake of being understood.
The universe is not still. It is not serene. It never signed a contract promising peace. It is an engine of collisions. Matter slams into itself. Energy explodes, reforms, loses itself again. There are galaxies inside galaxies, spinning with no plan.
Even silence moves.
We want to believe there is a blueprint, some divine architecture hidden behind the mess. But what if the mess is the point?
What if the chaos is not an error in the system but the system itself? What if coherence is a myth sold by those who fear their own complexity?
The moment we stop fixing, we begin seeing. The moment we stop patching, the real form appears. Not a clean design, but a field of variations. A chorus of fragments. None of them wrong. None of them extra.
The parts we hide are not flaws. They are the most honest pieces of us. The ones that held their angles, even when the world asked for symmetry.
We do not need to explain ourselves into acceptance.
We are not bridges. We are not equations.
We are rhythm, not order. We are the echo that never wanted to be a sound in the first place. We are the particle that spun differently. We are the note outside the scale.
And this. This is enough.
Not because someone told us it is. Not because it leads anywhere. But because it exists. Because it lives. Because it lives in spite of everything that tried to flatten it.
We were never meant to be still images. We were meant to blur, to glitch, to change.
That is not failure.
That is the most faithful reflection of everything that made us.
