Beauty of Our Resolve

I will not enjoy this post. I will not enjoy this writing. I wish I could stand silent, content in the safety of neutrality. I am angry that I feel compelled to speak, that circumstances have pushed me to this precipice.

I have seen the world dressed in its worst lately, and I am no longer content to merely witness.

They brought this ugliness to my doorstep. I never sought this conflict. It arrived uninvited, wrapped in righteousness and wearing the mask of patriotism. How desperately I've clung to the belief that justice prevails, that goodness inherently triumphs, that humanity ultimately chooses wisdom over folly. Each morning, I wake hoping this nightmare has dissolved into dawn's light, that reason has returned to its throne.

But wishes aren't horses, and I will not ride delusion any longer.

This isn't about policy debates or political theater. We've transcended those luxuries. We stand now in the stark territory of right versus wrong, of decency against cruelty, of truth confronting lies. And though they forced this choice upon me, never doubt where I plant my feet.

Against them.

Without apology.

I could lay history before them like an open book of warnings, but they would only read the passages that suit their narrative. Still, know this with certainty: whenever darkness has risen with their same arrogant sneer, it has always been vanquished. Not merely by weapons and rebellion, but by the fierce love of ordinary mothers, the quiet dignity of everyday citizens, the unwavering belief in our shared humanity. It was never the zealots who carved our path toward greatness. It was the millions whose names never graced a single page of history. Those who planted doubts in fertile minds, who spoke of their cruelty in whispers that grew into choruses, who didn't need to shout because truth, once recognized, spreads like dawn. If they must mock let them . Let them doubt if they dare. Their legacy too shall be confined to history's margins, remembered not with the reverence they imagine, but as yet another shadow that tried and failed to extinguish light.

We plant light in the cracks not as gentle gardeners but as warriors marking territory. Our poems aren't whispered hopes—they're manifestos burned into places the world abandoned to decay. Our brushstrokes on concrete aren't just art. They're declarations that even as you destroy, we will create. Our songs aren't pretty melodies. They're battle hymns hummed into the bones of places ravaged by their neglect.

Do not mistake our silence for weakness. We haven't been quiet because we're afraid. We've been quiet because we believed in them. We trusted they would remember what it means to be human. We had faith that decency would prevail without requiring our intervention.

That was our sin. Believing too long. Letting them get this far.

We are not weak. We are patient. Not timid. We are thoughtful. Not passive. But passionate.

And now, we are done waiting.

The ugliness they’ve unleashed roars through headlines and festers in the lies you tell yourselves. It screams from the mouths of those sworn to protect us all. And yes, there are days when our hands bleed from the effort of fighting their darkness, when each tiny light we kindle gets swallowed by the immensity of their hate before it can fully shine.

But they have forced this choice upon us. They chose a four-year fraud over a lifetime of love. Fear over faith. Greed over greatness. They betrayed us, Americans, brothers, sisters, neighbors, friends.

And here, the line is drawn.

We will keep writing, keep painting, keep singing. Not in supplication but as defiance.

Not to entertain them but to reclaim what they’ve corrupted.

I urge every writer to create beauty. Weave words that embrace rather than exclude, that illuminate righteousness without self-righteousness, that embody empathy when empathy seems lost. Write love into existence when hatred threatens to devour everything. Our craft carries power beyond measure. It can pierce hearts, ignite minds, move mountains of indifference. Yes, words can transmit rage, can burn with anger, can carve chasms between us. But true beauty cannot coexist with hatred. Beautiful writing, in its essence, builds bridges across impossible divides. It recognizes the sacred in the stranger, the worthy in the wounded, the human in those we've been taught to fear. When we write beauty, we write truth. And truth, by its nature, gathers rather than scatters, heals rather than harms, unites rather than divides.

It is easy to fall to anger, to rage against what wounds us. I have felt it coursing through my veins like poison, have tasted its metallic heat rising in my throat. I have lain awake while fury carved vengeance across the ceiling of my darkened room. I have imagined a thousand ways to answer their cruelty with my own.

Rage can feel like power when you've been made to feel powerless. It can feel like clarity when everything else seems shrouded in confusion. It promises satisfaction, resolution, justice, but delivers none. I set my rage down here, not because it isn't justified.

But because it isn't enough.

Because anger consumes the vessel that carries it long before it reaches its intended target.

Because I refuse to become what I stand against.

Even if they refuse to listen. Even if they mock what they cannot understand. Even when our beauty feels too fragile against their calculated cruelty.

We will offer our light, again and again, not because we're naive but because it is the most lethal weapon against what they’ve become. A fatal kindness that will expose every shadow they hide in.

Because if not us, then who?

Because the only cure for ugliness is beauty that refuses to compromise. Because we were sent here to make sacred what they’ve desecrated, to touch what they’ve broken and say:

Even this you cannot take from us .

There's thunder on the horizon. Not the empty spectacle of insurrection, not the impotent rage of the entitled. It's the slow, gathering rumble of change. A tornadic force of refusal to back up even one step further. It's the silent majority awakening, not with shouts but with resolve that will shake history free of the chains they wish to restore.

It's coming.

Now they will choose.

They will be forced to decide which side of history they stand on.

They made us choose.

Now it's our turn.

We will make beauty like it's vengeance.

Like it's justice.

Like it's the revolution they never saw coming.

Because it is.
